Two workshops for 2002
Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 March 2002 10:00 - 17:00
The UAUUG organised two workshops on adjacent days. The workshops
were held in the Lascelles Williams Training Room, Manchester Computing, Oxford
Road, Manchester.
Using Gsharp
Tuesday 26 March 2002 -- 10:00 - 17:00
The morning session covered: Using Gsharp, getting used to
the toolbars, the editors, the browser, the DataManager, saving and
exporting
The afternoon session covered: Graphics - making charts,
contouring, interpolation and vectors
The talk was designed to be for somebody with no experience of
Gsharp. Material was presented in HTML and so could be added to university
websites training and reference web-sites.
The structure of AVS/Express
Wednesday 27 March 2002 -- 10:00 - 17:00
This workshop gave an explanation of the general principles behind
AVS/Express, the modular concept of it. It included the installation procedure
and gave hints on possible pitfalls.
The main target was to give an understanding why AVS/Express works
in the way it does. It was not intended to give an introductory course as such
containing the explanation of single modules. It showed how to install and use
IAC modules and explain why we have to do these steps.
A hands on session of the installation process for IAC modules and
uAUug Cookbook was planned for the afternoon.
Notes from the event:
For both days, the only charge was to cover the cost of lunch.
